Jamie is a 26 year Army veteran with two deployments supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. His passion for fitness started while serving in Iraq where he quickly learned and excelled. Upon returning, he became an ISSA Certified Fitness Trainer. During his time as a CFT he was introduced to CrossFit and has been in awe of it since. When not coaching or studying, Jamie likes spending time at home with Jen, the kids and the dogs.

“What I love seeing is when the light bulb goes on and people realize they can do something they never imagined before.”

  • Owner/General Manager

Jen was a former ballerina and played sports in high school but she never clicked mentally with those activities like she did with CrossFit. Jen started her CrossFit journey in February of 2015 after many years of lacking in any consistent fitness work. The journey has been a wonderful experience, she has seen her physical abilities return and has been part of the wonderful CrossFit community at a gym in Madison and Trollway CrossFit. Jen’s love of CrossFit lies in the potential that is out there for every person regardless of their current fitness level. She is particularly interested in keeping kids fit and healthy in a fun way so they form great habits that will stay with them for life.

“I have met amazing people while doing CrossFit and many of them have become close friends. The CrossFit community brings people together that may never cross paths under any other circumstances. You know, like the Breakfast Club.”

  • Coach

Kale’s CrossFit journey first started in college where he was doing CrossFit.com daily workouts a few times a week for his baseball training. He then moved to Montana for a summer internship where he joined his first gym and hasn’t looked back since. He moved back to Mt. Horeb after graduating college and joined Trollway CrossFit shortly there after. A year and a half later he got his L1, right before the corona virus hit. As a result, his first coaching experience was making the online workout videos during quarantine. Since we’ve been back open he’s hit the ground running coaching classes 2-3 times a week.

“I really fell in the with the CrossFit community as a whole, people wanting to better themselves, push themselves and push each other”. I believe people are capable of a lot more than they think and I love seeing someone accomplish something they never thought possible. And with that remember “Be careful, you just might get better”.

Alex was born and raised on a 3rd generation farm, just outside of Mount Horeb, his family is deeply rooted to this small town community. It's the place he will always hold near to my heart that has instilled in him the lessons of hard work and dedication to all things he's passionate about. Alex has always found enjoyment in fitness whether it was in the form of sports or in the gym from a young age, through his college life. His journey into CrossFit started after constant pestering from Kale, (great friend and fellow coach) to come into Trollway and give it a shot. He showed up for his first class in January of 2020 and the rest is history. About 9 months in, an opportunity arose for him to jump into the coaching role. Since CrossFit had become such a big part of his routine, this decision for him was a no-brainer. Alex was able to complete his CF-L1 course in September, 2020 in Madison and has been coaching since. When he's not coaching, Alex loves to spend time with family, friends, and his dogs Waylon & Koelter on the farm, in the outdoors; in the woods or on the water, and especially on the golf course.

"Being able to watch people progress, improve, and smash PR's is so awesome to witness, especially from a coaches perspective. Being a part of a community that continually strives to make not only themselves but everyone around them better is such a great feeling."
