Jamie Knight – Owner/Coach

Jamie is a 26 year Army veteran with two deployments supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. His passion for fitness started while serving in Iraq where he quickly learned and excelled. Upon returning, he became an ISSA Certified Fitness Trainer. During his time as a CFT he was introduced to CrossFit and has been in awe of it since. When not coaching or studying, Jamie likes spending time at home with Jen, the kids and the dogs.

Paul Baumgarten – Owner/Coach

Paul has been in the army National Guard for 8 years, which is where he found CrossFit. Paul quickly realized that doing the traditional routines in a standard gym wouldn’t cut it for the physical demands he found for his job in the military. So after experimenting with multiple different styles of workouts he quickly stumbled into CrossFit in 2011. He immediately fell in love with the intense nature of the workouts and has been doing it ever since.
 

 

 

 

Kassie “KC” Patchak – Coach in Training

KC started weightlifting in 1990 when the high school football coach took her under his wing and started training her with his football athletes during their off season. KC fell in love with intense workouts and lifting heavy, she discovered CrossFit in 2013 and immediately knew she found her tribe. KC was a member at a globo gym at the time and started incorporating CrossFit movements in to her workouts. KC learned the movements on her own by watching videos and took those movements back to the gym and taught her lifting partner.  KC loves trail running and hitting the hills whenever possible, she enjoys CrossFit competitions, any kind of team competitions. KC sticks to a primarily paleo diet, and is happy to discuss nutrition with anyone that wants to hear about her nutrition journey and is looking for suggestions on how to start their own journey. KC joined Trollway in February 2016.

Jen Knight – CrossFit Kids

Jen was a former ballerina and played sports in high school but she never clicked mentally with those activities like she did with CrossFit.  Jen started her CrossFit journey in February of 2015 after many years of lacking in any consistent fitness work.  The journey has been a wonderful experience, she has seen her physical abilities return and has been part of the wonderful CrossFit community at a gym in Madison and Trollway CrossFit.  Jen’s love of CrossFit lies in the potential that is out there for every person regardless of their current fitness level.  She is particularly interested in keeping kids fit and healthy in a fun way so they form great habits that will stay with them for life.  

“I have met amazing people while doing CrossFit and many of them have become close friends.  The CrossFit community brings people together that may never cross paths under any other circumstances.  You know, like the Breakfast Club.”

Bekah Chapman – CrossFit Kids

Bekah is a licensed physical therapist, her passions in understanding functional movements lead to a career in pain management, injury prevention and overall fitness. Bekah was introduced to CrossFit by a close friend and instantly became hooked! She began her CrossFit journey in Boise, Idaho at CrossFit Rally Point in 2014. Utilizing high-intensity functional movements to gain strength and aerobic capacity was new and exciting. Bekah has dedicated a larger portion of her life to helping people and was intrigued by CrossFit as a whole, and its research to expand her understanding of the human body’s capacity.

Bekah took her CF L-1 certification early in 2015 before moving to Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. The impact that CrossFit has had on her and her family stretches beyond physical strength to improved confidence, ability and healthy living. It has become a way of life for her family. Wanting to do more for kids, in 2017, Bekah added a CrossFit Kids certifications to help broaden her understanding of how kids can develop great technique as they grow through these formable years.

Jackson – Mascot

All gyms need a good dog.  Jackson loves everyone and likes to dish out the dog kisses when his CrossFit pals are working on their handstand push ups.
